Here are some of the most dramatic images of nature’s power with the average lightning bolt rocking 300 million volts and 30,000 amps.
Getting the image is surprisingly simple by opening up the aperture to wide-open and focusing to infinity and putting a trigger on the camera that will open the shutter as long as you depress the trigger button.
By the time your optic nerve has communicated to your brain that you’ve just seen a lightning bolt, the bolt itself will have traveled up and down from the cloud at least 14 times which paints the bolt’s image on the camera sensor over and over again.
That’s the easy part.
Finding the storm and a location that will cooperate by tossing lots of lightning bolts in front of the camera…that’s the tricky bit! 🙂
